Betty Crocker and The Secret History of Home Economics

Listen to author Danielle Dreilinger talk about her new book: The Secret History of Home Economics: How Trailblazing Women Harnessed the Power of Home and Changed the Way We Live on NPR! Very interesting.

The author uses my book, Finding Betty Crocker: The Secret Life of the America's First Lady of Food. (Her title seems strikingly similar to mine but I guess all the good titles were taken!)

Have you read her book? What do you think? Do you recommend it? I'm looking forward to reading it.

Betty Crocker and "Omelette" (Season 1 Episode 1) | Julia | HBO Max

Fans of Betty Crocker are loving Julia on HBO Max. If you haven't watched it yet, you really need to. If you don't have HBO Max, get it.

One of the things I love about Julia is that it nails what success feels like - in particular, it doesn't feel much like success at all - or at least what you thought it should feel like. The show is a  mastery of storytelling in the "in between."

And since I spent a lot of my career working for PBS and publishing books, a lot of it Julia's story rings true for me.
